We are Oman's independent guide for mobile plan comparison, helping expats, residents and visitors make smarter telecom decisions since 2019.
When our founder, Daniel Marsh, relocated to Muscat in 2018 for a technology consulting role, he spent three frustrating days trying to compare mobile plans online. The official operator websites were hard to navigate, pricing was inconsistent, and community forums were full of outdated information.
He built a simple spreadsheet comparing the major plans — and shared it in an expat Facebook group. Within a week, it had been downloaded over 2,000 times. That reaction confirmed there was a real need for a reliable, independent telecom guide in Oman.
OmanConnect launched in early 2019 as a side project and grew into a full-time resource by 2021. Today we employ a small team of Muscat-based telecom researchers and writers who verify every plan detail weekly against operator websites and TRA-published data.
We have never accepted sponsorship or payment from any operator. Our ratings are purely based on value, coverage quality, customer service and contract transparency. This independence is fundamental to our mission — and it is why over 12,000 readers trust us every month.

A small but dedicated team of telecom researchers, writers and data analysts based in Muscat, Oman.
OmanConnect uses a structured methodology to assess every mobile plan available in Oman. Our process involves four key steps:
1. Data Collection: We gather pricing and plan details from each operator's official website, official press releases and TRA Oman publications. No third-party reseller data is used.
2. Field Testing: Our Muscat-based team conducts regular speed tests across different districts using certified equipment. Coverage quality, latency and real-world download speeds are recorded across urban, suburban and rural areas.
3. Customer Service Evaluation: We contact each operator's customer support team quarterly by phone, email and chat to assess response times, helpfulness and issue resolution rates.
4. Community Verification: Reader-submitted feedback is reviewed and, where it contradicts our findings, we investigate and update our data accordingly. This creates a self-correcting feedback loop that improves accuracy over time.
